Despite growing interest in ultrasound neuromodulation, the field is characterized by substantial inconsistencies in reported outcomes. In particular, it remains unclear whether ultrasound can directly evoke neural responses or whether observed effects arise indirectly through secondary mechanisms. To address this uncertainty, we are developing an experimental setup that enables systematic investigation of ultrasound effects on neural tissue in combination with electrical stimulation.
